CAN FONTANELLES
Hermitage of Sant Vicenç de Fontanelles
In Castellfollit del Boix on the estate of Can Fontanelles we find the Romanesque hermitage of Sant Vicenç de Fontanelles, which was built under the adoration of San Vicente el (12th century).
Hermitage of late Romanesque style XII
It has been very little transformed, the covered opening of the original door oriented at noon, and the new access oriented in the afternoon by the wall that supports the belfry steeple.
The building is very small, without any ornamentation, as is typical of the rural buildings of this time in the Bages region. It has the "basic" elements of simple and austere Romanesque.
It emphasizes the apse and a small bell tower.
It is in a good state of preservation, it is privately owned and it is currently open to the public and Mass is celebrated by the main festival of Pla de Fontanelles on the last Sunday of January for San Vicente flights.
Weddings are also held privately.
